Dot & Lil graciously opened its doors to the media on the evening of February 5th. Located in Montreal’s Mile End district, Dot & Lil is run by Anne Dardick, the CEO and creator of the natural products for bath, body and home. Amidst all the female media and delicious desserts, I caught up with the Head of Production, Dorian Mitchell, who informed me about the company and its aspirations for the future.

If you are like many of us and watch what you eat, you have noticed 'fat free' foods at your grocery store, or 'fat free' mufﬁns at the baked goods counter at your local coffee shop. So now the first thing I have to say to summarize my thoughts, “STOP the NO FAT”! Not only do we need fat in our diets, but 90% of these items that you see labeled “no fat” are loaded with sugars to make them palatable. Which in the end, is no better for you.
What happens when you have too much acid in your body? Many doctors, and nutritionists believe that too much acid in our bodies is the root of many common diseases. Research has shown that even mild acidosis can cause cardiovascular damage, decrease oxygen in your body, cause kidney problems such as kidney stones or gallbladder stones. So can you imagine if you have a lot of acid in your system? It is believed that too much acid has been linked to a break down in our immune system and increases free radical damage which is associated with allergies, abnormal cell mutation also known as cancer, premature aging, brittle bones, and the list goes on.
